TrapC is a Safe-by-Design extension of the C programming language designed by Robin Rowe that is in development and nearing release as free open source software. Current estimate is Q1 2026, but it depends on how fast debugging goes. I’ll post at trapc.org regularly to talk about what am implementing, starting on 26 January 2026.

Please don’t mind it if I fail to respond promptly. Am very busy. If it is important, phone me.
Just for context, writing free open source C compilers is not my only project. In 2025 I became an adjunct professor at CCBC, teaching AI Cybersecurity and C++ Vibe Programming . (Enroll now if interested, it is distance learning via Teams that starts in February 2026.) I only teach one course per semester. I do C++ design work and innovation management consulting. And, in 2025 I signed a 3-book deal with a well-known publisher.
This week, 28 February 2026, I am speaking in Orlando at SpaceCom about MCARE, the effort to create the virtual doctor from Star Trek for real. A medical metaverse platform that I designed in collaboration with Facebook Reality Labs and the UN ITU.
